I’m full of hot air!

I had a good run this a.m.. Not quite so sore, and I made the 4 miles without stopping. However, while I was running and thinking, I came to the conclusion that I am full of ish. I want to lose weight, but not enough to control what I put into my big mouth. I said my goal was to lose 8 lbs. by Christmas, but I really don’t want to, because I don’t want to stop eating the things I love. I have the knowledge to reach that goal, just not the complete desire, right now. Eventually, I’ll get a bur in my shorts, and decide to put forth the effort. It just aint happening right now. Yesterday, I went to a funeral service, and at the reception I ate a plate full of yummy pot luck food, AND, a big ooey gooey chocolate brownie, and I LOVED every sinful bite.

  1. If you lose the weight before Christmas what in heaven’s name will you do for a New Years resolution!

  2. You are supposed to enjoy eating sinful things like brownies!! You balanced it out with running 4 miles right? If you don’t really want to lose the weight, then don’t push yourself. I know that I would run a heck of a lot faster if I dropped about 5-10 pounds, but it’s not worth it to me.

  3. I love to eat and I understand your dilemma. As long as you enjoy burning calories by way of training/excercise, have a brownie on me.

  4. I know what you mean - my weakness is chips and salsa! Hey I notice that your goals say you want to run a half-marathon and feel good doing it - why not do what we’re doing: training for the Surf City half marathon on Feb. 1???? It’s in Southern California, but either come out here or share training with us via this site…

  5. Ahhh… You are not alone!! Can I live vicariously through your brownie?

  6. My son has received some ‘goody’ baskets due to his injury. I have to say that I dug through them with great vigor.

There are 7 days in the week. Why not commit to eating in accordance with your diet on 4/5 of those days and be a ‘diet deadbeat’ on 3/2 of those days?

Sometimes we have to trick our minds into complying with our goals. But be aware to is that as you run and build muscle, that’s going to burn fat and increase muscle mass.
