Wow how’d I do that?

How the heck did I run 13 miles last weekend? I barely made 3.4 today. LOL My poor little hip flexors were crying, “Oh the pain, please stop torturing us!”

It really wasn’t that bad. I was just aware of my weakness, and I believe I have a remedy. When I taught aerobics, I did a lot of standing knee lifts, front kicks, and heel kicks to the butt. I think that really helped me get my knees up, when I ran, as well as having a better kick. (right now I have niether) So, on my cross training days I’ll be taking my own aerobics class. I guess I should offer a class to my friends and coworkers. It’s always more fun torturing others as well as myself. :)

  1. Hey! I bet the 3.4 was tough — still hurting from the long one? My half is this Sunday and I’m getting very anxious but excited. I’m really looking forward to finding out if the training did the trick. The fact you are able to get your body there is just amazing! Like you, my goal after this half is to drop a little weight. I am 5′10″ and 160 lbs. I feel like I am the most fit I have ever been in my life, and I am certainly not complaining, but I have not had to use much control with eating while I was logging mega miles! As I lighten up on the miles, I can see the damage!! I am hoping to run another half in Februrary in Myrtle Beach — most importantly, to keep me from slacking this winter. After this half, I want to get back to pilates and some strength training. Well, best of luck to ya and your new goal — any plans for another half, or even a full?
